Something for everybody.
- Biden has apparently defeated Trump.
- Republicans did well down the ballot.
It was the weirdest election ever.
- We never had an incumbent president who came to office after losing the popular vote by so much (2.9 million votes in 2016).
- We never had an impeached president running for reelection.
- We never had a president this consistently unpopular.
We never had a presidential election during a pandemic of this scope.
We have never had an election with so many early votes 101 million, or about two-thirds of the total. And about two-thirds of all eligible adults cast a ballot, the highest turnout in more than a century.
So what happened?
