Some news stories noted Vice President Biden's remarks on Judge Sotomayor. Speaking to police officers, he said: "As you do your job, know that Judge Sotomayor has your back as well." Politico quotes legal ethicist Stephen Gillers: “She’s not there to ‘have their back.’ She’s there to interpret the law as she sees fit. . ." But another legal ethicist, Steven Lubet, disagrees: "This lacks the sort of specificity that would suggest bias."
